I’ve always loved building things and solving problems.
I started selling when I was just 10 years old, which sparked a lifelong passion for entrepreneurship and customer service. That journey eventually led me to earn an engineering degree and spend more than 20 years as an engineer, where I learned that the smallest details often make the biggest difference.
My passion for boating grew alongside my career. Over the past 12+ years, I’ve owned boats, earned my captain’s license, and worked as a professional charter and delivery captain. I’ve crossed oceans, delivered boats internationally, and spent countless hours operating vessels in a wide variety of conditions.
Those experiences changed the way I look at marine canvas.
When you’ve relied on your own equipment hundreds of miles offshore, you begin to appreciate that every zipper, every stitch, every fastener, and every design decision matters. It’s not just about making something look good—it’s about making it work reliably for years.
Throughout my career, I’ve built and managed several businesses, including leading a nonprofit organization for several years. Those experiences reinforced the values that guide The Canvas Works today: integrity, attention to detail, continuous improvement, and always doing what’s right for our customers and our team.
I believe education never ends. I’m an active member of the Marine Fabricators Association (MFA) and the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), regularly attending regional and national conferences to stay current with the latest materials, fabrication techniques, and industry innovations.
Home is Sausalito, California, where I spend my weekdays helping customers bring their projects to life and my weekends enjoying the very lifestyle our products are built for. Whether I’m sailing on San Francisco Bay or captaining charter yachts throughout the year, staying on the water keeps me connected to the needs of fellow boaters.
My goal is simple: to build products I’d be proud to put on my own boat, stand behind every project we complete, and create an experience where customers know they’ll be treated honestly, respectfully, and with the attention to detail their boat deserves..
